Track of the Week

So as you guys probably already know by now, especially if you’ve been reading some of my other posts, this blog is very new. It’s something that I’ve wanted to start working on for a good while and so far I’m thoroughly enjoying bringing you all regular new content. Today I introduce to you another new feature that I’ll be doing once a week, every Sunday. I’ll be choosing a brand new track released in the last seven days as my Track of the Week, so if you’re looking for your fix of brand new music, this is for you.

Track of the Week

Bee Bee Sea – D.I. Why Why Why

For this instalment of Track of the Week I give you Bee Bee Sea. This brash, aggressive and loud trio from Italy are ready to shake up the scene with their hard-hitting psychedelic punk madness. You are all in store for a treat.

This tune comes as the first single from their second album Sonic Boomerang, which was also released this week. When looking for a track for this post, I really could look no further than this band. The album title, Sonic Boomerang, couldn’t be anymore appropriate as “D.I Why Why Why” kicks off with a short drum fill that launches you head first into a cascade of noise. The punchy short guitar riff early on in the track dare I say it, doesn’t feel incredibly dissimilar to that of some early Arctic Monkeys records. I would also liken this band to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, I get that vibe from the fast paced heavy rhythm sections, which is crazy considering there is only three members in Bee Bee Sea. The vocals on this track are great and are most definitely one of my favourite features. Doused in reverb and pushed almost of the point of distortion, they really do bring the track to life and give it that aggressive punk feel. Interestingly, there are also elements that feel quite surfy, particularly in the guitar solo.

There’s not a lot more else to say about this tune other than it’s a total banger. Give it a chance, I promise you that you won’t be disappointed. Also, if you do like this song, I would highly advise that you check out the rest of Sonic Boomerang. In my opinion, it’s only a matter of time before this band start getting some serious recognition.

Thanks again for reading! Like always I’ll leave a link to the track below for you to have a listen. Leave a comment and a like if you’re a fan of my Track of the Week. Even if you weren’t, it would still be great to hear your opinions. Don’t forget to follow to recieve regular updates on the blog via email.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
